The Picture Box first opened it doors to customers in September 1985. Operating from a studio on Cowley Lane Chapeltown Sheffield the business was an instant success leading the market in high quality wedding and portrait photography since those early days up to today. The biggest changes we have seen are the change over to digital photography and the way people procure services such as ours. The majority of our bookings still come from word of mouth, but the internet has opened up an exciting new avenue which is driving new customers to our business in increasing numbers and from a wider geographical area.

For this reason we have sold our business premises in Chapeltown and now provide a service where we visit you at home. Rest assured we are still very much alive and kicking and still providing that “Special something” which eludes most photographers.  The work we produce is visually very special, yet classy regardless of the genre.

More importantly however we are known and respected for how we treat our customers.  We still have customers who first came to us back in 1985, we are now doing the weddings of children we first photographed when they were 6 months old.  Our friendly approach to all our customers from the first telephone call to delivering their beautiful photographs is key to our continued success.  We are very good at listening and always interpret our customers wishes with erring accuracy, this is vital in wedding photography.  Each year we restrict our wedding bookings to 40 or less and we only conduct one wedding per day in order to keep our standards high.

We do all styles of wedding and portrait photography.  A good photographer is not restricted to any one style.  All our photography is carried out by Tony Holmes who fully understands classical portraiture and lighting.  Tony’s eye for detail, form and elegance, combined with his easy relaxed and friendly approach will ensure a wedding album of outstanding quality which reflects the people you are.
